A surreal hotel, the Maison Moschino is full of fashion and fantasy! Located in the heart of Milan (Viale Monte Grappa 12) . It brings you to your fantasy land! Far far away from your reality.
Jan 14, 2011, the Italian Fashion label Moschino converts an old Milan railway station into a new fantasy hotel. This newest concept hotel is named after the late renowned Italian fashion designer Franco Moschino (Label: cheap and chic, Moschino).
The whole project was supervised by Rossella Jardini in cooperation with Jo Ann Tan. It keeps the integrity of Moschino’s sense of humor and fantasy.
I am one of his long term follower. I admire Moschino’s originality and impeccable workmanship. The current fashion house is able to follow his concept and continue his label under his original vision. It is a perfect marriage between architecture and fashion!
It is reconstructed from an old neoclassical railway station from the 1840′s. It looks timeless from the outside, but it is a wonderland inside. From his dream like cloud hanging from the ceiling, to the illuminated lampshade dresses; to the baa baa sheep gathered in the lobby. From the teacup table, to the forest bedpost, to his rose pedal-covered bedspread…it is a childhood fantasies. The moment you stepped into the hotel, you are actually stepping into a world of imagination and surrealism.
What a great place to hide from the busy city of Milan and tuck yourself into this dreamy bedroom. Yes, this is the room that I stayed. It’s called “Zzzzzzzzzzzz”. Mmm… I did slept very well! When I woke up in the morning, The big bug is the first thing that I see on top of my head! What an experience!
Other than this, they have many more different rooms. Like this beautiful rose pedals-covered bedspread.
Or, to make sure that you have a sweet dream, what about sleeping in a sweet bed?
Or this “Forest Canopy bed”? It will surely take you to your dream land far far away.
If you are one of the Moschino’s fan, you already know that his famous icon objects are buttons, keys…You can find all these keys decorated at the ceiling along the hallway through out the floor.
Designer will never forget the tiny details. You will find the keys image in the shampoo, conditioner and the shower gel…
No wonder in one of the art piece that hang at the wall of his restaurant is this collage of buttons - a huge heart made out of only buttons, monotone, but you can see it right away because of the flow of lines. Very unique and beautiful.
Throught out the entire theme in the restaurant is his fashion, ruffle skirts, lady like top… all dress up the normal chair and kind of makes you feel that “you are not alone”!
From the restaurant “Clandestino Milano” by Moreno Cedroni. His breakfast “Moskit” is exciting as his fashion. The food is presented fitting nicely inside a precious white box tray that was inspired by the “shoe box”. It is very clean cut and sophisticated!
